Meet the Owner
Kelly Barrell, M.S., CCC-SLP
Kelly Barrell is a pediatric speech-language pathologist with more than 20 years of experience helping children build the communication, feeding, and developmental skills they need to thrive. Throughout her career, she has worked with children and families across early intervention programs, schools, clinics, and private practice settings, always with the goal of helping each child reach their fullest potential.
Kelly earned her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Appalachian State University in 2004. She spent nearly a decade co-owning and operating a private therapy practice in South Carolina. After relocating with her family to the North Georgia mountains, Kelly began envisioning a clinic that would bring high-quality, collaborative pediatric therapy services to the community. That vision eventually became Communication Station GA.
She enjoys working alongside families to help them understand their child’s needs and feel confident supporting their progress at home and in everyday life. Her clinical approach emphasizes collaboration, practical strategies for families, and therapy that supports real-world success for children.
Specialized Training
Kelly has completed training in several evidence-based pediatric therapy approaches, including:
- Hanen Program
- S.O.S. Approach to Feeding
- Lively Letters
- LAMP Training
- Kaufman Approach
Her clinical specialties include early intervention, childhood apraxia of speech, AAC, language disorders, fluency, autism spectrum disorders, literacy development, and feeding therapy.
Outside the Clinic
When she’s not working with families, Kelly enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading, kayaking, and exploring the outdoors. She also enjoys paddleboarding and spending time with her family’s Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, two of which are currently in training to become therapy dogs.
